We are excited to announce that Dan Gould, Director of the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports at Michigan State University, will be attending Change the Game. Dan Gould is a youth sports research rock star. He has been working to connect sports science research to on-the-ground practical applications for programming. He has studied a wide range of topics in youth sports including sports-based development topics such as: how high school coaches teach life skills to their players, youth leadership development, and the role of parents in youth sports. Recently, he published a study in the Journal of Psychology of Sport and Exercise titled, “The relationship between psychosocial developmental and the sports climate experienced by underserved youth.” Dr. Gould’s extensive experience and expertise in the field of youth sports will make an exciting addition to Change the Game.
