Beyond the Bell Program sends a huge team of representatives to Change the Game!

Beyond the Bell ensure that all children and youth in LAUSD have access to high quality, safe, and supervised academic, enrichment, and recreation programs beyond the school day.  Beyond the Bell serves more than 178,492 students daily in over 600 schools around the county. Students participate in three components of program including: about-title-photo

  1. Academic Tutorial Program: Students study subjects such as Reading, Math, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Computers. In addition, high school ASSETS Programs focus on college preparation and job readiness.
  2. Recreational Program: Students participate in physical activities including Intramural Sports, Structured Physical Activity, Dance, and Aerobics.
  3. Enrichment Program: Students participate in classes such as Life Skills, Art, Cooking, and Music.

Beyond the Bell is also very serious about evaluation.  Through their efforts of tracking participants and their partnership with schools, Beyond the Bell has seen improved school attendance and academic performance in math and English.

Representing Beyond the Bell are program coodinators, regional directors, and field directors: Dennis Yamamoto, Adrienne Torres,  Steven Alvarado, Program Coordinator, Howard Serpas,  Rick Castro, and Carlos Martinez.  We’re excited to have a representative from an organization searching a large portion of LA’s youth.
